Assoc. Prof. Hew Khe Foon

Dr. Khe Foon Hew is an Associate Professor at the Division of Information and Technology Studies, Faculty of Education in the University of Hong Kong. He received his Ph.D degree in Instructional Systems Technology from Indiana University, Bloomington, U.S.A. His research primarily focuses on online facilitation strategies, as well as student interaction, cognition, and knowledge sharing in online environments. He has conducted many research studies related to online learning and knowledge discussion since the year 2000. He serves on numerous editorial/review boards such as the British Journal of Educational Technology, Educational Technology Research & Development (ETR&D), and the Journal of Interactive Online Learning. He has won several awards including the 2006 ETR&D Young Scholar Award, the 2011 IGI Global 4th Annual Excellence in Research Journal Award for having the Best Published Journal Article in the International Journal of Web-based Learning and Teaching Technologies, and the Best Paper Award at the 2012 International Conference on ICT in Teaching and Learning. Dr. Hew has published 90 peer reviewed research articles, of which 55 are papers in international refereed journals, 27 in peer reviewed international conference proceedings, 7 book chapters, and 1 book.
